Get to know me better.
Who am I?
Well, I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is John Robinson; I was born in Orange County and grew up in Southern California where I was surrounded with visual arts. I moved to Colorado my junior year of high school and was then lured into photography. I earned a scholarship for my photographic works to Santa Fe University of Art and Design. I didn’t go to New Mexico though, I chose to stay in Colorado and my love of photography grew. I developed a passion for photography that has remained in my heart throughout my life, no matter what is going on in my life my photography is a part of my identity. I have been called a perfectionist, I love organization, things need to make sense and have an order. To me photography is not a job or a hobby it truly is a passion.
Photography makes an ephemeral moment become a tangible memory. I create a photo document of a special time or place by capturing an honest portrait of a real emotion. “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
I shoot Photo Journalism style. My collection of your moments comes together to tell a story. I am a modern day photographer. I shoot with style, passion, expression and emotion. My photographs live to tell a story about an event. I shoot from a camera unaware perspective because I want to capture precise moments with honesty. I focus on the environment and an individual’s personality so that I can capture special moments as they unfold. I’m not capturing the perfect image. I am capturing the perfect moment. I create an archive of a special event to preserve and record a valuable piece of history.
